SolarWave — Community Solar Micro-Plants
Solar Energy • Germany
About the project
SolarWave finances and operates shared solar micro-plants in German apartment buildings, letting every resident produce and consume their own green electricity with no upfront investment.
Germany has committed to 100% renewable energy by 2035, yet 60% of Germans live in apartments and cannot install solar panels. SolarWave solves this with an innovative community solar model: we finance rooftop solar installations in residential buildings, then sell the electricity generated to residents at 30% below the grid rate. The building manager benefits from increased property value and an annual fee. Already 28 buildings equipped in Munich, Berlin, and Hamburg, covering 840 households. MRR reaches €95,000 with 20-year guaranteed contracts. The €3M raise will equip 150 additional buildings and launch our expansion into Austria.
