AfroFintech banks merchants and craftspeople in Ivory Coast's informal sector through a USSD+smartphone super-app combining a payment account, instant micro-credit, and life insurance from 500 FCFA/month.
In Ivory Coast, 65% of economic activity is informal and 72% of adults have no access to traditional banking services. AfroFintech is the financial super-app designed for this invisible majority: account opening in 3 minutes via USSD (no smartphone required), P2P and merchant payments, micro-loans from 50,000 to 500,000 FCFA disbursed in 2 hours via our AI scoring based on mobile money transaction data, and digital life insurance from 500 FCFA/month. We already count 85,000 active users in Abidjan with monthly transaction volume of 4.2 billion FCFA. Our model is profitable at 45,000 active users. The €900,000 raise will fund deployment in Bouaké and San Pedro, and expansion into Ghana and Senegal.
